INDUSTRIAL MACHINE REPAIR TECHNICIAN

Our client, a leading manufacturer in beautiful South Central Kentucky, is seeking Industrial Machine Repair Technicians for their facility. This position will primarily perform general maintenance on equipment and the facility.

The person selected for this candidate will:

  • Install and/or repair automated machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and make minor modifications to PLC programs including but not limited to Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron processors.
  • Understand electrical panel diagrams and layouts in accordance with ANSI, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA Standards
  • Perform operator machine interface, troubleshoot camera based inspection system (vision) programming, and be familiar with a wide array of sensors.
  • Troubleshoot to determine robot malfunctions using knowledge of microprocessors programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Disassemble robots and/or peripheral equipment to repair or replace defective circuit boards, sensors, controllers, encoders, servo-motors, servo valves, etc.
  • Accountable, plant wide, for operational aspects of the teams, including progress toward quality and production goals, prioritize and coordinate daily schedules, attend shift start up,  overtime, vacation coverage, record keeping, safety and housekeeping.
  • Communicate with other Maintenance Team Members, Maintenance Team Leader, Maintenance Manager, and other support functions.
  • Organize and facilitate maintenance on all production and facility equipment with emphasis on equipment uptime to resolve quality and production related issues in the spirit of continuous improvement, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Install, modify and fabricate equipment and systems to meet production needs and schedules.
  • Troubleshoot and repair production and facility equipment with emphasis on production uptime.
  • Read and interpret machine electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Use electrical test equipment as needed for repair and troubleshooting.
  • Repair and rebuild electrical and mechanical components.
  • Communicate clearly maintenance situations from one shift to another, including Maintenance Team Leader and Maintenance Manager.
  • Complete of work orders including labor, parts, and detailed description of work performed to complete job.  Accurate tracking of equipment downtime is also a necessary part of a complete job.
  • Manage maintenance inventory through the careful adherence to inventory procedures and tracking of parts used as instructed.
  • Receive work priority assignments from Shift Managers, Production Manager, or Maintenance Manager to prioritize and coordinate resolutions to equipment breakdowns.
  • Participate in continuous improvement in safety, quality and housekeeping.

Applicants should have 1-2 years’ experience with industrial control systems and robotics; knowledge of and demonstrated experience with Allen Bradley PLCs; good practical sense working with and troubleshooting equipment problems; and knowledge and understanding of basic wiring schematics.  The ideal candidate must be a responsible self-starter ready for a high energy production environment, with experience working in a team environment with minimal supervision.  He or she must be attentive to detail and have excellent communication skills.  Skills testing is required.  Candidates must be willing to work any shift.  $22.99 per hour to start, plus shift differential and excellent benefits offered.

  • Responsibilities would include Doing PM’s on machines
  • Taking equipment apart and putting it back together.
  • Cleaning the shop.
  • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical devices is preferred.
  • Ability to read a blueprint is required.

Injection molding technician

  • Injection molding experience is preferred but not required.
  • Looking for someone who has managed in a manufacturing environment.
  • Position will eventually need to know how to operate an injection molding machine setting the mold in the press, setting up the process parameters, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Position also is responsible for material handling, managing people, etc.
  • Knowledge of robots would also be a plus.

Both positions are M-F, but could involve weekend work. Initially, it will be a 8-4 type of position but may eventually be an off shift position. We want maintenance coverage on as many hours as we can so it could be an 8-4, 12-8, or 4 am – 12 pm. We would be mostly consistent. The position could work around school hours.
