  1. Madisonville Community College is required by law to provide accommodations and modifications to students with disabilities.





  2. Federal legislation requires that we accept students with disabilities into our academic programs and provide reasonable accommodations. This means that any student with a disability will be allowed to enroll at MCC.





  3. It is acceptable to ask a student if he has a disability and what it is.





  4. The information regarding a student's disability and her need for academic accommodations confidential.





  5. Faculty can encourage students with disabilities to disclose to the Disability Resource Coordinator without violating the students’ confidentiality.





  6. If a student tells an instructor he has a disability and needs accommodations, the instructor should provide the accommodations.





  7. A faculty member may refuse to provide a student with academic accommodations.





  8. Students with disabilities should be expected to complete all of the requirements of a class.





  9. Faculty have to make on line classes accessible and provide accommodations for Distance Learning classes.





  10. There is no grievance procedure in place for students or faculty who encounter disagreements with the accommodation procedure.
