Let痴 take a few moments and talk about the academic skill of grammar and particularly how that relates to college writing. Your ability to write well will play a significant role in how good you will do in your college classes. And towards this end, it is very important for you to remember the resource we have in the tutoring center; especially the tutors that we have that can help you with your writing. How can they help you? Well, one of the main ways that they can help you is for you to simply submit a paper, a research paper or an essay. What they値l do is they値l take that paper, they値l look it over, they値l evaluate it, and they値l determine where your areas of strengths and weaknesses are as a writer. And based upon those areas of strengths and weaknesses, it will help you to know what aspects of writing you should give attention to when you begin to start a paper or an essay or whatever project that is required in one of your classes. I cannot express to you how important it is for you to learn to write well and that means grammatically, coherently and concisely. Good writing simply means numerous rewritings and in order to have numerous rewritings, that means you must be disciplined in scheduling time. Put it on the calendar. Don稚 simply write your paper and hand it in. Write it. Rework it. Reread it. Edit it. Look it over. Look for errors. Look for mistakes. Focus on those aspects of weaknesses that you learned from your tutor in the writing center. And as you continue to do this, over time, you will develop the skill of a good writer. So, in regards to the academic skill of grammar as it relates to that of college writing, remember the key, good writing means numerous rewritings and this means you must schedule time.
