Career Fair to Assist Students in Health Care Fields
MADISONVILLE, Ky.—To assist allied health and nursing students during their job search, Madisonville Community College will host a health career fair at the Hatley Building on MCC Health Campus from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28.
This is a unique opportunity for current health program students to meet area healthcare professionals and discuss employment opportunities. Career Services Coordinator Chris Woodall expects over 40 area employers to participate in the events. Employers will be seeking applicants in a variety of healthcare fields, including nursing, physical and occupational therapy, respiratory care, radiography, medical office, and more.
Over the next decade, workers in the health care industry will be in high demand. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, employment in the health care industry is projected to increase 27.3 percent, as compared to 14 percent for all other U.S. industries combined.
Those with specialized training will experience greater opportunities for employment. Specialized clinical training is a definite asset to employment in the health care industry.
