Because of the increased sophistication of heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems, employers prefer to hire those with technical school training or those who have completed an apprenticeship.  Job prospects for these technicians are expected to be excellent, particularly for those with training from an accredited technical school.  Employment of heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration technicians is projected to increase faster than average for all occupations in this industry through the year 2014.  (U.S. Bureau of Labor)

Madisonville Community College’s Air Conditioning  and Refrigeration (ACR) Technology program focuses on this objective through academic, theoretical, and practical experiences which are designed to promote success in the heating and air conditioning field.
