Personal Information

iHola!  Me llamo Sra. Dianne Jernigan y soy instructora de español en HCC & MCC.  Tambien tengo clase en Muhlenberg County.

I live in Greenville, Kentucky, which is in Muhlenberg County, with my husband, David, and our dog, Brandi.  We have three children, 2 sons and a daughter who are grown and live on their own in Louisville, Cincinnati, and Texas.  We also have one granddaughter, Katelyn, who lives in El Paso, Texas with her daddy, Eric and her mommy, Melissa.

I received a BA in Spanish from Indiana University and a MA in Spanish from the University of Kentucky.  I was awarded a teaching assistantship at UK and taught college courses there for the 2 years I was working on my MA. I also did a summer study abroad session in Mexico City, living with a Mexican family.  I have worked and traveled abroad in Mexico and Spain and other European countries and have enjoyed sharing my knowledge with student study groups that I have chaperoned. 

I have taught high school Spanish for 25 years at all levels, including AP Spanish, beginning at Ballard High School (Louisville), but mostly at Muhlenberg South High School. I have taught at Madisonville Community College as adjunct faculty for the past 8 years.  In this capacity I taught one college course per semester in the evening.
