MAYOR'S COMMENTS

Monday July 14, 2008
Good Morning Everyone,
It was another great weekend on pier six. Lots of folks here
with friends and family. Good to see everyone.
Saturday was a very hot and humid day with folks staying
inside keeping cool. With the thunder storms in
the evening cooler weather came and that was wonderful!! Sunday was a wonderful
day.
The "Summer of Love l969" party at the yacht club Saturday night
was attended by several on pier
six and it was lots of fun. Hope to later have some pictures of that for the
Web.
For those doing the "Poker Run" Saturday...you can register at
Dockers area between 10 and 11.
Still several folks here enjoying vacation and they certainly
have beautiful weather today for that.
Everyone have a great week and see you soon.
Mayor Pat
A THANK YOU
CARD TO ALL
THE PIER |
The family of Ina H. Blakeman acknowledges with grateful
appreciation the kind expression of your sympathy.
Dear Pier 6 Family,
Thanks so much for the beautiful flowers you sent in memory of my mom.
She was an avid gardener and loved to grow flowers, especially ones she
could cut and
arrange at church. The colors and varieties reminded me of her favorites.
I was happy they were "re-used" at her church on Sunday in a new altar
arrangement.
You have all been so kind. We are lucky to have you as our extended family!

WOW!
What a 4th of July weekend. There were so many
so many activities I am not even going to try to identify all of the
pictures individually. The photos to the right include Pier 6 boaters
and friends visiting Kentucky Dam Marina for fireworks, a Saturday night
Hors d’oeuvre party that included one of several birthday parties for Mayor
Pat and featured a special song written and presented by Marti May, an
impromptu breakfast on the pier featuring Dr. Kim’s biscuits and gravy as
well as a breakfast dessert prepared by Faye Simmons, Patty Long getting the
“Over Served Flag” (or is that “Frog” Patty), a feat which she accomplished
at the record early time of 3PM, a new kitten for Rachael, a group shot of
the latest golf outing group, and some odds and ends pictures that just
seemed interesting. It was a VERY good weekend.
