Program Description
A Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is a graduate of an accredited Associate degree program who has also passed a National Certification Exam. The PTA works under the supervision of a Physical Therapist in applying various forms of treatment and assists in the care and prevention of individual injury and disease. The PTA is a member of the health care team and can be employed in a variety of healthcare environments, including hospitals, nursing homes, extended care facilities, home health, school systems and rehabilitation centers. If you are interested in working in the health care field and have the desire and ability to communicate and work directly with patients, then you should consider the PTA program.
