Biography

April M. Grace is a native of Franklin, Kentucky. April attended Murray State University (MSU) immediately after high school where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Child Development under the advisement of Ann Carr.

Ms. Grace later attended Western Kentucky University where she received her Masters of Arts in Education (MAE) with an emphasis in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education (IECE).

Ms. Grace brought with her a variety of early childhood experiences. During her studies at MSU she worked in a privately owned child care facility, she was a nanny for one child, and she completed an internship with Corporate Child Care Management Services out of Nashville, Tennessee, now known as Bright Horizons.

Ms. Grace left Murray, Kentucky to start her professional career with Audubon Area Child Care Resource and Referral in Hopkinsville, Kentucky where she served as the Assistant Coordinator for the nine county Pennyrile Area Developmental District. Later she became the director of the University Heights Academy Preschool (UHA). During her stay at UHA, she began teaching early childhood classes at Hopkinsville Community College part-time.

April came to Madisonville Community College in August of 2001. She was promoted to Associate Professor in May of 2006. Ms. Grace continues to reside in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
