MCC Hosts Hopkins County Spelling Bee

Madisonville Community College (MCC) was the host of the 2012-2013 Hopkins County Spelling Bee on Friday, January 25, 2013. Participating in the bee were:

• Lauren Williams – Earlington Elementary School
• Blake Johnson – Grapevine Elementary School
• Jared Gobin – Hanson Elementary School
• Landon Harris – Jesse Stuart Elementary School
• Austin McDowell – Pride Avenue Elementary School
• Chynna Cotton – Southside Elementary School
• Zach Tow – West Broadway Elementary School
• Brynin Carver – James Madison Middle School
• Harper Oglesby – South Hopkins Middle School
• Kaylie Mitchell – West Hopkins School

Jared Gobin from Hanson Elementary School was the 1st Place winner; Landon Harris from Jesse Stuart Elementary School took 2nd Place.

All school winners have qualified to compete in the Tri-State Spelling Bee in Evansville, IN.
