Garth Gamblin Scholarship
The Garth Gamblin Scholarship was established by The Messenger, Garth Gamblin, and other donors for persons with disabilities attending Madisonville Community College. The scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors, returning students, and nontraditional students. Applications are due by the first day of classes of the semester applying. The amount of the award ($500 maximum) will be determined on a case by case basis and is not limited to tuition and books. The scholarship can be awarded to the same student for two semesters. A new application is required for the second semester. Semesters need not be consecutive.
Scholarship Criteria
- Applicant must have a documented disability
- Committee will take into consideration the applicant's high school GPA, family income and ACT or COMPASS scores.
- Applicant must declare a major.
- Applicant must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 while attending Madisonville Community College.
- Applicant may be full-time or part-time student.
- Applicant's documentation of disability must be submitted to the Disability Resource Coordinator for review.
- Applications must be turned in by the first day of classes of the semester applying.
