Clincial Laboratory Technician
Program advisor: Karol Conrad
Program Description
Clinical Laboratory Technicians are health professionals skilled in both the theory and practice of clinical laboratory procedures that provide data which physicians use to determine the absence, presence, extent and cause of disease. Clinical Laboratory Technicians must be accurate, dedicated, skilled and self-motivated.
The Clinical Laboratory Technician coursework is delivered through traditional classroom lecture or distance learning with scheduled on-campus laboratories and clinical experiences.
The distance learning program is set up utilizing four sources:
- A local college for general education courses required for graduation
- Madisonville Community College for the Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) coursework
- Access to the Kentucky Virtual University for delivery of the CLT distance learning courses
- An approved local clinical affiliate for the final year of clinical training
