Electricians install and maintain residential and industrial wiring. They maintain electric motors, devices and appliances, and test and adjust highly technical electrical apparatus.
The Electrician may be employed in electrical maintenance or electrical construction (industrial or residential.)
Classroom instruction and shop experience provide the needed job skills for industry. Two full years are required for a full-time student. Courses are offered during four 16-week semesters and one six-week summer session.
