Talent Search (TS) is a federally funded TRIO program that provides educational guidance services to encourage individuals in the pursuit of further education or training after high school. Individuals in the program receive information and assistance on career and academic planning. Talent Search is designed to help students who are enrolled in schools and adults who are interested in continuing their education.
Seven hundred fifty-six middle and high school students participate in the Talent Search program. Participant eligibility is based upon federal guidelines. The student participants are selected from school guidance counselors based upon the student's potential ability for success at the postsecondary level.
Talent Search staff works with eligible participants through in-school presentations and an academic summer camp component. Advisors work with 756 students at 11 area schools in the following systems:
