Your first semester of college can be an exciting, yet confusing time…we want to help you through this process with the MCC First Semester Experience program. There are questions you may find yourself asking once you begin your classes and we would like to help you find the answers before the semester gets underway.
New students with completed admissions files (application, placement test scores, and high school transcripts or GED scores) will attend a First Semester Experience (FSE) session prior to registering for classes. You will register for classes at a later time during individually scheduled sessions with your First Semester Experience Advisor. Sessions will last approximately 3-4 hours.
While we encourage students to attend their FSE session on their own, we understand that some of you would feel more comfortable bringing a parent along. However, please note that due to space limitations parents may or may not be able to stay in the session rooms with you. This is at the discretion of your FSE advisor. Friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, siblings, etc. will not be allowed to attend your session and we cannot reserve seats for any individuals joining you.
New students should contact the Career and Academic Planning Center (824-8621) in order to reserve one of the First Semester Experience session dates below or for more information. Walk-ins will not be accepted and seating is limited.
